CONTEMPORARY CHALLENGES IN SOCIAL WORK TEACHING, THEORY AND PRACTICE

Welcome to the VI International Congress of Social Work (CIFETS 2027) and XV Congress of Faculties and Schools of Social Work!

The Spanish University Association of Social Work (AUETS), in collaboration with the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), is pleased to invite you to take part in this academic and professional gathering, to be held in a privileged setting with a spirit of openness and global dialogue.

This International Congress is conceived as a dynamic space for exchange, critical reflection, and collective construction around the contemporary challenges that Social Work faces in all its dimensions: teaching, theory, research, and professional practice.

From classrooms to communities, from theoretical frameworks to intervention experiences, we aim to open a plural, inclusive, and rigorous forum where knowledge can be shared, perspectives debated, and networks built.

Academics, professionals, students, and institutional representatives from all over the world are warmly invited to join this event and collectively reflect on social transformations and the role of Social Work in addressing them.

To reflect the diversity of Social Work, the congress proposes six thematic areas that allow for the exploration of its various dimensions:

1. Social Work with Individuals and/or Families
2. Social Work with Groups and/or Communities
3. Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Teaching Innovation in Social Work
4. Critical Social Work in the Face of Contemporary Social Challenges
5. Social Work within Public Social Protection Systems (SPSS)
6. Strengths-Based Approaches in Social Work Practice
