The 10th Edition of the International Conference on Meteorology and Climatology of the Mediterranean (MetMed) will take place in Toulouse (France) on May 19-21, 2025.

It will be jointly organized by the Centre Nationale de Recherches Météologiques /Météo France, the Catalan Association of Meteorology (ACAM), with the support of Tethys, the Journal of Mediterranean Meteorology & Climatology, and the University of the Balearic Islands.


Remember that the deadline for late registration is 16th May 2025.


The Conference aims to show, discuss and disseminate the recent scientific progresses and contributions of the international scientific community on different aspects of the meteorology and the climatology of the Mediterranean region and foster communication and collaborations between different research groups, professionals from weather/climate services and stakeholders. The oral and poster contributions will be in the following sessions:

  1. Climatology
  2. Processes and mechanisms
  3. Remote and in-situ measurements 
  4. Numerical modelling
  5. Interdisciplinary studies
  6. Statistical and AI-based methods

Please note that each author will be allowed only one oral presentation, regardless of the number of abstracts submitted. If the presenting author doesn't come, it is up to the Scientific committee to accept a substitute co-author or to withdraw the presentation.

The 9th Edition of the International Conference on Meteorology and Climatology of the Mediterranean (MetMed) will take place in the Sala Quadrivium, Piazza Santa Marta, 2 (Next to S. Marta church), Genoa (Italy) on May 22-24, 2023.

It will be jointly organized by the University of Genoa, the Italian Association of Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology (AISAM), the Catalan Association of Meteorology (ACAM), with the support of Tethys, the Journal of Mediterranean Meteorology & Climatology, and the University of the Balearic Islands.

The Conference aims to show, discuss and disseminate the recent scientific progresses and contributions of the international scientific community on different aspects of the meteorology and the climatology of the Mediterranean region and foster communication and collaborations between different research groups, professionals from weather/climate services and stakeholders.

Early registration is now open until 24 March!

Oral and poster contributions concerning different aspects of meteorology and climatology of the Mediterranean region are welcome in one of the following Sessions:

1.     Climatology
2.     Processes and mechanisms
3.     Remote and in-situ measurements
4.     Numerical modelling
5.     Interdisciplinary studies
6.     Statistical and AI-based methods

Please, consider that each author will be allowed only one oral presentation, regardless of the number of submitted contributions. If the presenting author does not come, it’s up to the Scientific Committee to accept a substitute or to withdraw the presentation.

We may offer finacial support for students/scientists for attending the conference. However, priority will be given to requests from emerging countries. Please, submit your request to Dr. Ilaria Ferrando - ilaria.ferrando@edu.unige.it
