PRESENTATION

Dear colleague,

After our successful last symposium in 2022 and the MOVE symposium in 2023 organized in collaboration with different European EV Societies and Networks, we are excited to announce that the 7th International GEIVEX symposium will be held on 23-25th of October 2024 in Palma, Mallorca, Spain. GEIVEX is a consolidated non-profit organization aiming to promote research, innovation and knowledge exchange in the field of Extracellular Vesicles (EVs). Our aim is to advance personalized medicine by developing new tools and biomarkers with high social impact to generate benefits and equality in global health.

Based on the successful previous experiences at Granada and Santiago de Compostela GEIVEX symposia in 2019 and in 2022, we are also planning a Educational Day workshop on the pre-meeting day (October 22nd) under the scope "Hands on exploring methodologies for EV research". We are aware that this type of activity is highly welcomed by EVs researchers and is a great opportunity for companies to promote state-of-the-art technologies for EV analysis. Therefore, we are interested in organizing a Educational Day demonstration of any EV-specific instrument that might be of interest to EV researchers, both at the laboratory and at the translational level for clinical practice. We believe that the combination of basic and clinical research, as in many other fields, is the basis for translational EVs studies leading to future approaches to disease. To achieve productive discussions and maintain the excellent standards of our symposia, we are already working on providing a list of high-quality keynote speakers for each session.

In addition, this 7th International Symposium in 2024 will be an important opportunity to create and strengthen partnerships between professionals dedicated to EVs research, both basic and clinical, as well as to meet the renowned speakers.

Palma, boasting a lengthy history in tourism, showcases a diverse array of activities and services. What sets it apart, however, is the amalgamation of influences and traditions from various civilizations that have inhabited the city throughout the centuries. Noteworthy cultures such as the Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Muslims, and Christians have left their imprints on the city's development. With time, Palma has evolved into a contemporary, cosmopolitan hub, providing a broad spectrum of activities and extending a warm welcome to visitors throughout the year.

The chosen venue will be the Auditorium of the Gaspar Melchor de Jovellanos' Building at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), with all the facilities for conferences. The UIB Campus is located in a rural setting, with fantastic views of the Sierra de Tramuntana, offering a fantastic and relaxed environment for interaction between attendees and sponsors.

We look forward to your active and enthusiastic participation in the meeting and to enjoy an exceptional location.
